When 25-year-old Valentine Strasser seized power in Sierra Leone in 1992, he became the world`s youngest head of state. Today, Strasser lives quietly with his mother, Beatrice, in the house he built at Grafton, east of Freetown. He spends his days drinking gin by the roadside. He receives a government pension of 200,000 leones (£30) a month.
